What does the call support?
The 2026 call supports joint R&D projects with strong market potential in Singapore, the UK or internationally.
The current focus domains are:
- Advanced Manufacturing;
- Clean Energy;
- Life Sciences;
- Digital & Technologies, including AI, cybersecurity, connectivity and quantum.
The project should result in an innovative product, technology-based service or process with a credible route to commercialisation.
Who can apply?
The Singapore applicant must:
- be a business entity registered or incorporated and operating in Singapore;
- have at least 30% of ordinary shares held directly or indirectly by Singaporeans and/or Singapore PRs;
- be financially viable to start and complete the project.
The consortium must include at least one Singapore company and one independent UK company.
Research performers may participate, but the budget allocated to research performers must not exceed 30% of total proposed project cost.
How much funding is available?
The Singapore company can receive up to 70% of qualifying project costs, subject to Enterprise Singapore assessment and call conditions.
No fixed public Singapore-dollar grant cap is currently stated. The approved quantum is therefore project- and assessment-specific rather than a published flat maximum.
What expenditure can qualify?
Qualifying R&D and innovation costs may include:
- internal manpower;
- equipment and software;
- materials and consumables;
- professional services;
subject to Enterprise Singapore approval and the call-specific rules.
Key conditions
The collaboration requirement is fundamental.
The consortium must include at least one Singapore company and one independent UK company.
The Singapore applicant must satisfy the 30% local ownership requirement.
Research performers may receive no more than 30% of total proposed project cost.
The project should fall within one of the 2026 focus domains and have strong commercialisation potential.
When should you apply?
The call closes on 16 December 2026 at 18:00 Singapore time (UTC+8).
Because this is a periodic call rather than a rolling programme, companies should work backwards from the deadline to secure the UK partner, align the joint workplan, agree budgets and prepare both national application components.
How does the application process work?
The call uses a dual-country application process:
- the Singapore company applies under EDG (Co-Innovation Programme) through the Singapore grant channel;
- the UK partner applies through Innovate UK's Innovation Funding Service.
A practical workstream is:
- confirm Singapore and UK partner eligibility;
- define the joint R&D scope and commercial objective;
- allocate work packages and budgets between consortium partners;
- prepare the Singapore and UK application components in parallel;
- submit before the 16 December 2026, 18:00 Singapore time deadline;
- respond to the relevant national assessments.
Is this call relevant to your project?
A strong fit is a Singapore company with a credible independent UK partner and a genuine joint-development project in one of the target technology areas.
The project should involve substantive R&D or product/process development rather than a simple sales, distribution or subcontracting arrangement.
A weak fit is a project without a UK company partner, a Singapore applicant that does not meet the local ownership requirement, or a project where research performers would exceed the stated 30% budget limit.
How Reeve | R&D supports the call
Reeve | R&D can manage the Singapore-side incentive workstream—eligibility assessment, consortium and project structuring, funding modelling, application preparation, coordination with the UK workstream, Enterprise Singapore interaction and post-award requirements—while the company remains the formal applicant where required by the programme.
