What does it support?

SEC supports wages paid to qualifying Singaporean employees aged 60 and above who earn below S$4,000 a month. It is relevant to the ongoing employment of senior workers, rather than a defined training or capital project.

Who can apply?

Eligible Singapore-registered employers paying CPF for qualifying senior Singaporean employees can benefit, subject to IRAS's employer and employee exclusions. There is no local ownership requirement for the employer.

How does the support work?

For monthly wages up to S$3,000, the 2026–2027 offset is 2% for ages 60–64, 4% for ages 65–68 and 7% for ages 69 and above. Support tapers where wages exceed S$3,000 but remain below S$4,000.

Payments are calculated from eligible wages, with no fixed company-level cap.

What expenditure can qualify?

SEC is based on eligible wages of qualifying senior employees. It is not reimbursement of recruitment, training or workplace equipment costs.

Key conditions

The employee must meet the age, citizenship and wage conditions. Wages paid to business owners and other excluded employees are not eligible, and the employer must not fall within IRAS's exclusion list.

Timing and application process

SEC is available through 31 December 2027. No application is required: IRAS assesses eligibility from CPF records. Employers should check the relevant age band and wage taper when assessing the support associated with their senior workforce.

Important programme distinctions

Employees qualifying for the Enabling Employment Credit are not eligible for SEC for the same wages. The two schemes should not be added together when estimating support for an employee.
