Local ownership requirement applies

What does it support?

The facility finances the purchase or construction of productive assets, including equipment, machinery, factories and business premises in Singapore or overseas, subject to its rules.

Who can apply?

The business must be registered and operating in Singapore, with at least 30% local shareholding. SME eligibility and the applicable group annual sales requirements must also be met.

How does the support work?

The Government’s standard lender risk-share is 50%, rising to 70% for eligible young enterprises. Product-level limits apply within the S$50 million overall EFS borrower-group exposure limit.

What expenditure can qualify?

Qualifying machinery, equipment, factories and business premises are financed by debt. The scheme does not refund a percentage of the purchase price as a grant.

Key conditions

The participating financial institution assesses creditworthiness. Tenure may extend to 15 years, and the business remains responsible for full repayment.

Timing and application process

Approach a participating financial institution with the proposed assets and financing requirement. Its credit approval and the facility rules determine the available terms.

Important programme distinctions

An asset-financing facility and a productivity grant have different economics. Include debt service and repayment in the investment assessment.
