Local ownership
Local ownership requirement applies
What does it support?
Trade finance can support inventory, pre-delivery working capital, receivables and factoring, overseas working capital and trade guarantees.
Who can apply?
The company must be registered and operating in Singapore, with at least 30% local shareholding and group annual sales no higher than S$500 million. Participating-lender credit assessment also applies.
How does the support work?
Enterprise Singapore normally shares 50% of the lender’s risk. Eligible young enterprises and specified higher-risk categories may receive a 70% risk-share. Product-level limits apply within the S$50 million overall EFS borrower-group exposure limit.
What expenditure can qualify?
The facility finances eligible trade transactions and associated working capital. It does not reimburse trade expenses as a grant.
Key conditions
The maximum financing tenure is generally one year. The borrower must satisfy the lender’s conditions and repay 100% of the approved borrowing.
Timing and application process
Apply to a participating financial institution with the trade-financing requirement and supporting transaction information.
Important programme distinctions
This is short-term debt. Government sharing of lender risk does not transfer the borrower’s repayment obligation to Enterprise Singapore.
