What does it support?

Eligible Work-Study programmes combine supervised workplace training, structured on-the-job development and mentorship with the relevant education pathway. The employer must be able to deliver the training commitments prescribed by the programme.

Who can apply?

Companies, societies and non-profit organisations registered or incorporated in Singapore can participate where they meet the training provider's employer conditions and engage eligible trainees. Individual participant qualifications depend on the Work-Study pathway.

How does the support work?

An employer grant of up to S$15,000 per qualifying trainee may be available in approved Certificate, Diploma and Post-Diploma pathways. Certain pathways or cohorts have lower grant amounts, so the programme's current offer controls the actual funding calculation.

What expenditure can qualify?

The support is linked to employer provision of structured workplace training and mentorship under an eligible Work-Study placement, rather than unrestricted employee payroll expenses.

Key conditions

  • Participate in a recognised Work-Study programme with eligible trainees.
  • Deliver the provider's required workplace training, supervision and mentorship.
  • Confirm the particular pathway's employer obligations, grant level and claim process.

Timing and application process

Work-Study operates through individual programme intakes. Employers should engage the relevant training institution or use the Enterprise Portal for Jobs & Skills to confirm open pathways and submit through the appointed programme process.

Important programme distinctions

Work-Study support depends on the trainee's approved training pathway. Career Conversion Programmes and other workforce grants have different participant, training and claim conditions; a generic grant amount should not be assumed across those schemes.
